Retrospect 2024

An exciting collection of projects we’ve been working on over the past year are getting publicized, so rest assured that we’ll soon share some of the visuals from these, that we’re most proud of!

But first, we’d like to take a summary look back at the past year, as it was quite an eventful ride for us all at Brick Visual!  Let’s check the highlights that we felt were the most exciting:

Brick expands

Both in our services and our locations. Having produced a number of successful projects apart from archviz, our website now offers several other services we provide in media and entertainment, all of which are presented on our updated website.

Brick in Cluj has moved into a great new loft studio, where the team has expanded with several fresh faces, all hardcore professionals, assuring that the projects produced are continuously top notch!

Last but not least, Brick’s latest satellite office in Porto opened, and is operating full steam in this beautiful Portuguese location, creating images and animations with a core staff of outstanding, veteran artists!

Awards

2024 was very generous to Brick in the awards arena. We managed to make an appearance domestically, by taking home 5 awards from Hungary’s CAD’oro Architectural Animation Review.

Followed by a category win in the advertising and design industry’s Creativepool Annual Awards, presented in London last September, with Brick’s self-initiated animation project: “The Baby Blue Crew’s Protest”.

But the award season would not have been complete without CG Architect’s 2024 CG Awards, with Brick Visual grabbing two prestigious awards! The “Commissioned Image of the Year” produced for Kengo Kuma’s Daejeon Music Hall and Museum project, as well as the “Studio of the Year” award!

None of these acknowledgements are taken for granted by us, surrounded by an industry with so much skills and talent, we are truly grateful and proud to have received these recognitions!

Besides these, it makes us equally proud to see some of our creative artists constantly appear in top positions on popular 3d competitions. Several D2 challenges were participated in and even won, in competition with many brilliant artists from around the world. Good job guys, we’re very proud of you!

Community

Besides Brick’s regular appearances on the D2 conference, last year’s introduction of the World Visualization Festival in Warsaw presented another great opportunity to share thoughts and interesting ideas with fellow artists through our presentations and workshops!

Collaborations

Beyond the giants in architecture and development we have the privilege to work with, it has also been exciting to strike up collaborations with such a client as Google, and also to have Intel choose us to present some of their new hardware, used in the 3D industry!

Pulze

The Brick trio behind the development of popular archviz tools Render manager, Scene manager and the AI assisting gem Project Dream, went through a proper redesign and were sent on their way, now separate from Brick as an enterprise on its own.
Consistently considered a vital strategic partner, the ambitious developers are expanding further with new and improved solutions!

Archviz realized

One more thing that has been a reappearing treat to experience, were some of the projects from developments or competitions we’ve created visuals for over the years, slowly starting to appear in their true form.
A Manhattan high-rise getting close to completion, the expansion of Denver airport finalized, a retired space shuttle settling into its new home at the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center in California, or Hermés’ artisan leather goods factory “Maroquinerie de la Sormonne”, located in the beautiful Ardennes region of France.

All of these once imagined and visualized by Brick artists, are now coming to life, and in many cases resembling their digital predecessors to a remarkable level!
A fact that strengthens more than anything, the belief in the power our industry, and all the brilliant artists creating these images have in the planning phases of architecture!

2024 in a couple interesting numbers:

Years in operation: 10+
Brick studios in Europe: 4
Brick employees: 120+

Projects handled: 300
Images delivered: 1865
Animations delivered: 28
